Milan – LS:N Global paid a visit to the Fabrica research centre in Treviso, Italy, to hear about the preparation for FUHA, its latest collaboration with Daikin for Milan’s Salone del Mobile 2015.

After the success of last year’s ‘Hot and Cold’ collaboration with Japanese brand Daikin, Fabrica is creating its second interactive exhibition with the company, entitled FUHA. Inspired by the Japanese onomatopoeic phrase that describes the sound of exhaled breath, designers at Fabrica are developing pieces that explore air as a mechanism or ‘protagonist’ for design. ‘The exhibition is about creating a platform for the air to perform – the air being the designer of the exhibition,’ Sam Baron, Fabrica’s creative director, tells LS:N Global.

Baron enlisted the talents of Italian design duo Studio Formafantasma to co-curate the multi-sensory exhibition. From the visual identity to the design interactions, each element of FUHA is thoughtfully integrated, and the typography masterfully mimics the different characteristics of paper billowing in a breeze. A must-see during Salone del Mobile, the exhibition will take place at Foro Buonaparte 60.
