Zurich – Product designer Jörg Boner has created a novel way to share a coffee. The ‘Thermos’ coffee pot, created by Boner for Nestlé, combines a flask and two cups into a single design. The flask holds enough coffee for two and the cups are also used as the lid. The elastic band that holds the cup lid in place can be used as a handle to pour the hot liquid.
‘The elastic band that fixes the cups into place can be transformed into a handle in just one move, turning the thermos flask into a coffee pot,’ says Boner. ‘The play on both archetypes brings out the character of the product.’
Minimal in design and simple in function, ‘Thermos’ is a good example of the Leanomic design needed in our increasingly hectic lives.
