Steelcase re-invents the workplace
Today’s New Millennials and Generation Y are blurring the distinction between business and leisure as they start their working lives. Welcome to the Bleisure revolution: the new life approach that fuses work and play. It’s not about the workaholic practices of the Generation Jones (over 45, covered in January’s Insight). It’s also a move on from the life/work balance focus of the ThirtyFiveUps (covered in December’s Insight). The Bleisure approach has assimilated all these previous work incarnations and come out the other side. Today, work is about collaboration, connectivity, mobility and personality. And this new age requires a new approach to office design, and one that can accommodate this high-octane blurred lifestyle, according to office design innovators Steelcase.
