Geneva – Designer Maarten Baas has created a range of furniture in conjunction with the Mitterrand+Cramer gallery.
The series, called ‘Grey Derivations’, includes bookshelves, a chair, a lamp and cabinets in black and white resin, all featuring the designer’s signature play-doh aesthetic. In addition, the collection focuses on craft, with most items having been hand-made in Baas’ studio in the Dutch countryside.
Combining traditional forms of craft and manufacturing with new, technologically driven aesthetics is a growing theme in design. This compelling new movement is explored further in Trad-Tech in our Milan Design Trends.
