UK – The Beautiful Meme and Bong have developed an interactive game that examines the future of Europe.
- The game was developed for the Collecting Europe exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A)
- Players are asked a series of thought-led questions on boundaries and identities, and a personalised generative artwork is created from the data
Commissioned by the British Council, the V&A and Goethe-Institut London, the game was developed for the Collecting Europe exhibition, which featured works by 12 international artists that envisaged the state of Europe in 4017.
The game asks players a series of thought-provoking questions such as ‘Can you imagine a world without countries?’, ‘Are you open to being enhanced by drugs and technology to be stronger and smarter?’ and ‘Could you have a romantic relationship with a robot?’.
Each answer changes the size and complexity of an abstract shape, which is added to a catalogue of shapes submitted by players from around the world. The collection of images will be analysed in 2019 to examine the nuances between players in regards to their attitudes towards boundaries and identities.
The Big Picture
