Philadelphia – If you’re missing the sound and feel of an old-fashioned typewriter but love the look of the latest technology, there is a solution.
Designer Jack Zylkin has developed a USB Typewriter that connects to, and forms a dock for, an Apple iPad. In a demonstration video on the website a person types a message that is accompanied by the tapping noise of a traditional typewriter. But instead of text appearing on a sheet of paper, it is typed on the iPad.
Customers can buy ready-made versions of the typewriter or a kit to make their own version. It will also work as a keyboard for PCs and Mac computers. For more on the latest technology trends, read our Technology update.
