Los Angeles – An electric car concept is set to turn the famous mini car into a rechargeable and green city vehicle. The Mini E, the new two-seat Mini from BMW, was one of the highlights from our round-up of the recent Los Angeles auto show, and demonstrated a significant movement across the automotive sector towards green motoring.
Five hundred Mini Es will be delivered to buyers on a one-year lease, then returned to BMW for comparative testing at the end of this period, thus allowing BMW to work directly with consumers to improve the long-term efficiency of the car. It’s a collaborative initiative more car makers are considering as the race to create the world’s most super-efficient all-electric car revs up, with states such as Hawaii planning alternative transport systems based on electric vehicles and rechargeable batteries.
