London – Jill Hawkins, marketing manager at high-performance sportswear brand UVU, explained the ethos of the brand in relation to the new movement in sport of ultra-marathons at LS:N Global’s Sports Network Evening on 14 June.
Developed by the KTC factory in China, Hawkins explained that UVU clothing is a response to a new mindset in sport that pits mental strength against physical fitness.
‘[UVU clothing] is so high-tech, so super-performance-driven that when you wear it you don’t need to think about what you’re wearing,’ Hawkins tells LS:N Global. ‘You can run and you can concentrate on the real challenge, which is the psychological challenge not the physical challenge of completing an ultra-marathon.’
