International – Consumer electronics brand LG and creative agency Perfect Fools have developed 3D Newsfeed, a Facebook app that converts your newsfeed into a 3D metropolis.
The app transforms posts into dynamic blocks that grow based on the number of likes and comments they receive. Links, photographs, videos and status updates are colour-coded, making it easier for Facebook users to identify what kind of content is gaining traction with their friends and other users.
While this is a great example of a brand simplifying Facebook’s newsfeed, we think the user interface has great potential for online and mobile retailers. A retailer could use this interface to show which of its products are most popular with consumers or which are being shared on social media.
