Sarasota, Florida – A new plastic packaging option for microbrewers aims to reduce breakages at the bar and offer a much cheaper way of producing and distributing draft beers. The BeerPaQ CarboPouch by the Beverage Pouch Group is a flexible plastic pouch strong enough to hold carbonated drinks, and less expensive to distribute than heavy and breakable glass bottles. In addition, the CarboPouches, when empty, can, unlike glass bottles, be stacked flat – meaning they require less storage space.
The CarboPouch is one in a series of recent developments in an alcohol industry keen to experiment with new sorts of packaging. Wine makers recently placed their tipple in cans for enjoyment at outdoor functions or while on the go, and beer manufacturers are now putting their product in these new flexible containers. Just don’t squeeze too hard.
