Stockholm review

Always a hothouse of good classic Scandinavian styling, you can almost smell the cedar and eucalyptus just thinking about it. But this is not a sauna, it is the Stockholm Furniture Fair, the annual February fair which shows off the region’s best and brightest blonde wood creations to levels well beyond the veneer. And even the veneer is luminous, backlit and lasercut and used in lighting designs. This is Nordic design in its natural habitat – which this year was as satisfyingly snowy and dark as cultural stereotypes dictate.
