Los Angeles – The world’s first fully-electric vehicle-development platform has been revealed, which will enable auto designers to build and test any custom design they wish – creating, essentially, ‘vehicle apps’.
The Trexa lithium-drive platform comes with a ready-to-programme electric-drive system; four-wheel-drive capability; and a scalable, flexible structure so designers may choose to work with a compact, micro-car or all-terrain format. The standard Trexa electric vehicle will be capable of going from 0 to 60mph in 8 seconds, with a top speed of 100mph.
Currently available to specialty car developers, the platform is a fine example of the sort of open-source approach that will help to engage consumers in a Brandtocratic era.
