Paris – The Week Song is a website that plays one song, and one song only, every week.

  • The Week Song encourages a slower online experience and doesn’t vie for people’s attention every day
  • The way people discover, consume and share music online is changing to a multi-app model

There are so many ways to discover curated music content online, but 87% of music is still unheard, says Adrien Moret, founder of app The Best Song and now website The Week Song, which introduces visitors to one independent artist each week.

So underground is its selection that Moret says there is no point even trying to Shazam the artist. Instead, visitors have to subscribe to receive a biography and a link to where they can hear more.

‘The Ask Infos feature is about creating a new way to hunt the level of love for a track, something more meaningful than a simple like,’ says Moret. The aim with his latest venture was to create something so minimal that visitors wouldn’t be influenced by anything other than the music while listening.

The Big Picture

Cut the clutter to give consumers a more mindful online experience. Focus on curation and connecting consumers with content they wouldn’t find anywhere else. Find out more in our macrotrend Revelation Brands.
