Energy Flow by FIELD
As more people consume media on digital devices, storytelling itself is changing. Energy Flow, a non-linear film from London digital art and design studio FIELD, is a narrative experiment that takes advantage of the interactivity of smartphones and tablets, while adapting to changes in the way we obtain information. The film is packaged as a free app. Ten separate animated narratives are remixed into 1,000 films, ranging from one to five minutes in length. They share a common theme of exploring transfers of energy, whether social, as in a sequence that drew from imagery of the 2011 London riots, or biological, as in a story that follows a leopard and an impala.
