Tokyo – A new department store concession mimics the convenience store aesthetic in a pared-down one-stop shop for fashion enthusiasts. The 24 concession, designed by Nendo for cult Japanese designer Issey Miyake, features clothing wrapped in food packaging-like packets, and shopping basket-inspired shelves and display tables.
Due to open in a selection of Japanese department stores in the coming months, the concession places all available stock on display, disposing of the need for backroom storage. With its racks of brightly coloured, reasonably priced stock, 24 offers affordable fashion – at your convenience.
