Paris – Plants seldom survive in dark, cramped spaces. But a new lamp is giving them the chance to live in such conditions, stimulating growth in domestic spaces where there is insufficient sunlight.
Designed by Florent Coirier, the ‘Kusamono’ device is minimalistic and comprises a horticultural light bulb and a long metal reflector that is folded and placed on an air base. The result is green plants that live for longer and the lamp has the additional benefit of providing lighting that helps to create a tranquil atmosphere indoors.
This is a great example of how to design for our urban and compact homes, as explored in our Homestead 3.0 trend report.
