London – Quality rather than quantity is the ethos of a new knitwear collection launched during London Fashion Week by designer Angela Cassidy.
‘The consumer is tired of fast, faddish fashion and wants to invest in quality pieces that supersede the outdated quest for the cheapest option,’ says Cassidy, who collaborated with designer Richard Nicoll on knitwear for his autumn/winter 2009 collection.
Cassidy notes that an efficient production process is crucial. ‘My designs are engineered to reduce waste in production and to maximise the quality of the knitted fabric,’ she says. Her timeless garments are made out of natural fibres such as wool and cotton.
This collection highlights a theme we explore in our recent Inspire piece; wearing in, rather than wearing out, is the way forward.
