Buenos Aires – A laundry company is taking steps to minimise its environmental impact.
The Laundry Company in Argentina is upping its ethical credentials by operating a carbon-neutral policy, as well as supporting a tree-planting programme. Customers are given their clothes in stylish reusable fabric bags to avoid using unnecessary plastics.
The Laundry Company also uses low-temperature machines and detergents, which require 40% less energy and are designed for minimal environmental impact. Clothes are delivered to customers for free; the deliveries are carried out on foot, or on bright red bicycles, rather than in vehicles that run on petrol.
Today’s customers seek convenience, but they also want their purchases to express their ethical, environmental and community ideals. For more information, see our Retail Report.
