London – Combining the worlds of beauty and fashion with food, Studio Appétit has launched its new food platform, Things of Edible Beauty.
The studio, which specialises in experiential design and culinary products, previewed the platform at the opening event of the London Design Festival at the Victoria and Albert Museum in a bid to show food in a more aesthetic and ornamental way. For the event it created pieces of jewellery adorned with edible bites, and launched a new fragrance that can be sprayed onto dishes to add flavour. The studio will introduce a new collection of products each season and experiment with flavours inspired by the biannual fashion week calendar.
‘We really tried to look at food in a different way,’ says Ido Garini, founder of Studio Appétit. ‘Food is really celebrated, but it still doesn’t get the recognition that it could.’
