LS:N Global video interview with Fabrica on their collaboration with Airbnb for Salone del Mobile 2015, Milan

Milan – LS:N Global visited research centre Fabrica in Treviso, Italy, for a behind-the-scenes look into the team’s upcoming collaboration with Airbnb for Salone International del Mobile Milan.

Reflecting the nature of Airbnb, the theme of the Housewarming exhibition centres around different cultural interpretations of a host welcoming a guest into the home environment. The rich cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary nature of Fabrica’s design team has inspired compelling products and design interactions that reference traditional rituals from countries such as Australia, Japan, England and Italy. ‘Each of us has a unique answer to the question of how to welcome someone,’ Fabrica’s interaction designer Angelo Semeraro tells LS:N Global. ‘We had to synthesise our skills and our cultural backgrounds – all the installations are different answers to the same question.’ Designed to be interactive and experiential, the exhibition will take place within different spaces throughout Palazzo Crespi, opened to the public for the first time for the Salone. Prior registration online to the Housewarming installation is essential.

LS:N Global will be reporting live from Milan, so keep an eye on our seed and shows sections. For an insight into the leading districts and exhibitions during the week, see our preview.
