Milan – This year’s Milan Design Week collaboration between Design Miami and Fendi will invite designers to create pieces that explore the art of perspective. The Design Vertigo installation at the Spazio Fendi showroom will use a mixture of fashion, architecture, digital design and art to explore how people view, approach and interact with design.
Installations include Swiss artist Felice Varini’s ‘Elisse nel trapezio’, in which the viewer is only able to articulate the piece from a specific standing point, otherwise it appears as a jumbled line.
London-based art and design collective rAndom International will present an interactive LED light display that reacts and responds to a visitor’s movements. Sculptor Graham Hudson will show an installation consisting of mannequins wrapped in Fendi furs that can be viewed on a scaffolding platform. The scaffolding also functions as the bar and provides a viewing point above the exhibition floor.
LS:N Global will be reporting from Salone Internazionale del Mobile and will be publishing information about the top exhibitions, products and trends throughout the week.
