London Design Festival 2015 – LS:N Global caught up with acclaimed designer Faye Toogood at the opening of her installation The Drawing Room at Somerset House.
While visitors to the Victoria and Albert Museum experience a treasure hunt with a twist for The Cloakroom, fans of Toogood can get to know the person behind the brand at The Drawing Room, an autobiographical space of memories and tokens of the designer’s past.
Showing off Roly Poly, Toogood's latest collection of furniture inspired by soft lines and round edges, the space sits against a backdrop of a hand-drawn charcoal illustrations of landscapes taken from places and people from the designer's childhood.
Speaking to LS:N Global, Toogood explains why the installation holds a special place in her heart and why she takes a utilitarian approach to materials and design.
