Milan – Nike explored the different facets and experiences of motion through a series of spatial installations at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan.
- Ten designers were asked to interpret the brand’s ethos, The Nature of Motion
- Design duo Clara von Zweigbergk and Shane Schneck presented a collection of stools that offer an alternative to sedentary seating
Responding to the brief by Nike, Von Zweigbergk and Schneck integrated movement into static objects such as furniture. Their collection features seven pieces designed to respond dynamically to the position of the user. ‘We wanted to introduce an element of balance because it engages your brain and your body,’ Von Zweigbergk told LS:N Global. ‘It’s also a commentary on our sedentary lifestyles.’
The exhibition also featured an area focused on Nike’s in-house design experimentation. Research into future forms and shapes was presented alongside playful 3D sketches exploring new experiences of movement.
