Oslo – A Norwegian design studio is asking citizens to create an identity for their city in order to honour it.
Created by design studio Norwegian Ink, the CitID website invites the public to design a logo to be posted online. The goal is to help a global community to become familiar with local areas.
Some of the designs include a big red S and a wave for Sochi in Russia and a boat with passengers for Naples, Italy. Another label is a colourful graphic in blue, red and yellow that depicts smiling characters for the Katong neighbourhood in Singapore.
‘Ever heard of Tegucicalpa? How about Sandnes or Brunswick? The fact is, they are all cities on our planet. Places you are likely never to visit. Through this project you will become aware of them, and may even remember their names,’ say founders Frode Nordbø and Jakob Kermit.
