London – A new mobile phone app is introducing augmented reality technology to clubbers’ paradise, Ibiza this year. The Augmented Ibiza app will enable island party-goers to check in to clubs and leave comments. From this user-generated information, the app will then create maps showing the most popular clubs in real time.
Developed by London’s location-based marketing agency The Cloud & Compass, the Augmented Ibiza app uses the GPS capabilities of modern smartphones such as the iPhone. In effect, the app enables people to access a layer of digital information embedded in the island’s geography.
Our recent Geo-Marketing insight report, now available as a downloadable PDF report, explores how brands will use location-based technology to engage with consumers on the move in the future.
