Bordeaux, France – A designer has bought an object for £1 and redesigned it in one day for the ‘10 × 3: 10 Jours, 10 Objets’ exhibition in France.
London-based designer Oscar Diaz’s ‘Standard Torch’ is based on a single 9V battery. Also featured in the New Simplicity exhibition in London, Diaz’s designs are simple, practical and affordable. The lamp simply clips onto the battery and uses it for power. A luminous paint has been applied to the top edge and sides indicating the battery’s polarities.
