Singapore – Perched atop a trio of skyscrapers, and located 55 storeys above the ground, the new Infinity pool at the Marina Bay Sands resort is not for the faint-hearted. The new swimming pool, three times the length of an Olympic pool, is part of the lavish new complex that has just opened in the city.
Designed by architect Moshe Safdie, the recently opened £4bn resort ($6.2bn, €4.8bn at current exchange rates), which features the world’s most expensive hotel, comprises three buildings housing 2,560 guest rooms. The structure is completed with the SkyPark containing the Infinity pool.
The audacious structure suggests that despite a globally turbulent luxury market, there are those who still have an appetite for the big and the bold.
The forthcoming Luxury Futures report, which will be available soon in our Shop, will explore these rising luxury markets further.
