London – Spanish designer Jaime Hayón launched a furniture collection for manufacturer Sé this week in the Brompton Design District. The Collection II series includes armchairs, sofas, chairs, mirrors and tables, all designed with Hayón’s signature bulbous shapes as well as a subtle approach to luxury.
Dining chairs are curved soft shells on short, thin legs while tables feature marble slabs resting on metal legs. Lounge chairs created from a number of thin metal strips lacquered in dull gold look like strings from a musical instrument.
This light approach to bling follows the increasingly quiet luxury that LS:N Global has tracked for some time in design directions such as Blingamalism.
LS:N Global will report from key exhibitions and launches throughout the rest of London Design Festival.
