London – With about 4,000 designs under one roof, the 16th 100% Design exhibition took place this month in Earls Court.
The large space featured 14 international pavilions, including 100% Argentina, which used QR codes as a main graphic and information device, and 100% Norway, which displayed work by Daniel Rybakken, Alex Hellum and saw the launch of Northern Lighting’s ‘Twist’ lamp by Bergen-based duo Tveit&Tornøe. Meanwhile, the outstanding 101% Designed in Brussels stand featured simple products reminiscent of our Super-minimalism Inspire.
The main attraction was in the central boulevard. A prominent grid of sensory lights hung from above as visitors walked through admiring the works below. Field of Lights by Tom Cecil is an interactive installation designed to ‘track people moving around the space’, Tom Cecil tells LS:N Global. ‘It’s designed to understand how people move around an exhibition. I am an engineer by background and have deliberately kept the electronics exposed so people can see the science behind it.’
Smaller stands included Daniel and Emma and TEN Plan, a line-up of 10 designers presenting a collection of designs with a DIY theme.
