Brussels – As a response to urban living, designers Jungyou Choi and Joonsoo Kim of Joon & Jung studio explores the concept of isolation in their latest exhibition at this year’s Design September, Brussels at the Jonas Gallery.
The Humanism & Form project explores how designs can connect people and space in cities. These include the white ‘I’m too sad to separate’ cup – two cups in one with two handles, made for sharing. Another piece is the ‘Hands-on chair’ – two chairs joined together by a net – that aims to trigger a connection among urbanites as they become increasingly detached. ‘Most of all, we believe that the chair could give you the feeling of solidarity,’ the designers explain.
LS:N Global explores how urban consumers are increasingly looking for face-to-face relationships in our Conviviality Culture report.
