Eindhoven – Maaike Seeger, a graduate from Design Academy Eindhoven, has created an ingenious range of tableware called Meltware, which can be expanded and reduced easily, as required.
The novel collection comprises three essential stoneware pieces – a spoon, a bowl and a carafe – and wax moulds that can be used to create new pieces. Carnauba wax, a waterproof blend that comes from Brazilian palm leaves, is melted and poured into the moulds to add items to the set.
The wax creations will not only match, but can also be melted back down to their original state for easy and practical storage.
