Helsinki – Nokia has collected data during professional snowboarders’ rides and is challenging the public to find ways to use this information creatively.
As part of the Push Snowboarding project, in collaboration with snowboard manufacturer Burton, a sensor system was attached to the bodies and boards of four riders and connected to a Nokia N8 phone using Bluetooth.
Data was recorded during rides in Laax, Switzerland, and included speed, altitude and orientation as well as each rider’s heart rate. Anyone can now download and interpret the information however they want.
