Los Angeles- Adidas and game publisher THQ have unveiled an interactive athletic training game for the new Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
MiCoach offers training features for basketball, football, running, tennis and American football. Players follow a personalised training regime with some of the world’s best athletes, and are shown training alongside a sports star in the game via a camera on the console.
Progress is monitored throughout. Players with Adidas’s miCoach heart rate monitor receive a real-time audio performance feedback. They can also train outdoors wearing a miCoach Pacer that can wirelessly synchronise the data through a website or directly into the game.
This is a great example of how gaming is becoming more sociable and more influential. LS:N Global explored this trend in more detail in our Ubiquitious Gaming Culture macro trend.
