Lisbon – Design studio Cabracega and designer André Gonçalves have created a clock called USMA, which chimes to mark the time rather than using a visual key.
The clock takes the form of a simple wooden box, and chimes every hour to signify the passage of time, avoiding the use of a digital interface. In a world in which time seems ever shorter, USMA encourages people to take a slower approach, so hours rather than minutes count.
Millennials and teen consumers are increasingly craving more meaningful experiences, away from the always-on pressures of work. This trend, called The New Sublimity, will be explored in detail at our forthcoming Trend Briefing. Click here to buy tickets or email Alena Joyette for more details.
