US – London-based art and design practice Artisan has teamed up with d3 Technologies to create an interactive on-screen experience for US telecoms company Sprint called The Dream.
Designed to encourage cinema-goers to turn off their mobile phones, a dream sequence prompts viewers to text ‘dream’ to 60602 before switching off their phone. When they turn it back on, users are presented with a personalised visual of the information that the phone processed while it was ‘asleep’.
‘Phones have a lot of material to dream about,’ says d3 Technologies project manager Rosie Mitchell. ‘Does your phone dream? That is a compelling question. We’re so used to having our entire lives on our phones and they do so much more than just call or text – photos, videos, calendars and memories are all stored on your phone.’
