Paris – Hermès has launched its new silver collection with accompanying sound.
A video entitled The Sound of Hermès Silver imagines what pieces of Hermès’ new Chaîne d’ancre collection might sound like if caressed by a series of moonbeam-like lasers.
In the installation, created by United Visual Artists, the beams play the jewellery, coaxing from each bracelet, ring and chain ‘its own particular voice’, according to Hermès.
The celestially inspired collection, designed by Pierre Hardy, marks a re-invention of the motifs that Hermès has used for 75 years. The aesthetic of the jewellery is reflected in the installation, which draws futuristic, alien sounds by musician YoggyOne together in harmony. The individual pieces rotate on space-age plinths, propelled by a clockwork mechanism reminiscent of a planetarium orrery.
