Switzerland – École Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne (ECAL) master’s student Vincent Tarisien has created a range of customisable furniture made from wood and bio-resin, which users must mix themselves.
Each piece of Timber furniture comes with a series of interlocking wooden components and bio-resin that can be dyed in accordance with the user’s tastes. The user mixes and pours the resin over the wooden frames, and leaves them to harden. Within a few minutes, the result is a personalised, hand-made table.
‘I like to compare this project to a cooking recipe,’ says Tarisien. ‘It has a framework in which each ingredient needs to be combined in a blend, but it still allows a certain freedom and self-expression.’
