New York – Hello Flo is a new monthly subscription service that delivers tampons just before a woman’s period.
Customers can choose from a variety of packages that include multi-packs of pads, tampons and panty liners as well as sweet treats to ease the pain. It is another example of the growing popularity of subscription services, which is further explored in our Small-Box Retail microtrend.
While the Hello Flo packaging is discreet enough to be delivered to work, the service’s marketing campaign is anything but. The language of advertising aimed at women on their menstrual cycle is often written in euphemisms and without any reference to the body. In the company’s Camp Gyno ad, however, a young girl uses words never spoken in menstruation marketing. It is an honest, humorous and refreshing approach to a subject every woman relates to.
