London – Nike invited passers-by to become a Force of Nature at its East London interactive running installation during the Nike Innovation Summit in April.
- Created in collaboration with digital artists FIELD and hosted at The Truman Brewery
- Celebrates the launch of Nike Free’s latest collection
Using Kinect technology and a treadmill fitted with customised sensors, the installation took runners through a journey of ‘immersive visual effects that amplified the feeling of getting into the flow of running’.
Cameras captured the runner’s profile before converting it into a digital image that was transformed in time with the rhythm of their steps. Accompanied by Studiokamp’s soundtrack of rushing wind and crashing waves, the effect is hypnotic and reminiscent of our Zoned-Out Spaces microtrend, where designers use digital technologies to create psychedelic experiences.
