Bucharest – Running in the opposite direction to brands that look the same, avant-garde fashion label Rozalb de Mura offers folkloric designs inspired by local craft and a traditional narrative from its home country, Romania.
Only three years after forming in Bucharest, the company is now firmly established, having shown in Berlin, Beijing and the OnIOff independent fashion showcase at London Fashion Week. Its latest foray, on 22 October, was in Stockholm, appearing alongside fellow Romanians Liste Noire, the interior design company, to talk about the importance of storytelling in fashion.
Rozalb de Mura picks up on trends we’ve noted recently: companies incorporating craft, a narrative and the notion of local into their offering. For more, see our reports on Alphalux and London Design Festival 2009.
