Married to the mobile: iPhone credit card reader soon to launch

Paw Paw, Michigan – A new card reader will soon let small and independent retailers accept credit cards via their iPhone handset.

The mophie marketplace is a magnetic strip reader that attaches onto the iPhone shell to turn the smartphone into a mobile payment device. The hardware works alongside a downloadable mophie marketplace app.

The mophie marketplace joins the Square plug-in card reader as two of the newest devices likely to help drive the mobile transactions market.
