Cambridge – We all know that design is becoming slimmer and more minimal as it evolves. But who would have thought that it would disappear completely?
A new computer mouse system designed by the Fluid Interfaces Group at the MIT Media Lab uses an infrared laser beam and camera built into the computer to enable people to navigate the screen with an invisible mouse.
In the demonstration video on the website, a man moves his hand in the same way as he would when using a traditional mouse. The laser beam appears under his hand and when he taps his finger on the desk, a browser opens as usual.
