London – Italian food design collective Arabeschi di Latte has again brought Conviviality Culture to London with its free Pastificio Londra pasta workshop. ‘Making pasta is a great way to get people talking,’ Francesca Sarti, co-founder of the collective tells LS:N Global. ‘We want to highlight the importance of play between simple ingredients and their creative interpretation.’
The pop-up workshop took place on 4 and 5 December as part of the Brompton Christmas Shopping Day in West London and saw passers-by immersed in everything from selecting the flour – including chestnut and wholemeal – to choosing what wooden tools to use for pasta shapes such as ravioli or bigoli, whipping the eggs and kneading the dough.
The collective then gave advice on what to serve the fresh pasta with – it could be pesto, or just olive oil and some Parmesan cheese. Visitors could choose to take the pasta home with them or cook it and eat it on-site.
