Utrecht, the Netherlands – A playground pavilion engraved with images of fairytales from around the world has opened in the Netherlands.
At first sight the building’s white Corian façade appears to be simply a set of sharp lines, but a closer look reveals graphic designs such as European heroine Snow White and a Cookie Jar Monster from China. The building, by Amsterdam-based Mulders vandenBerk Architecten, is intended to stimulate children’s imagination.
Inside, the pavilion features bright colours and minimalist designs and is split into two parts, one for teenagers and one for younger children. To read more about how children’s spaces are evolving, access our microtrend on Kidult spaces.
