Hiroshima – A hairdresser offers a new take on the traditional salon space by confounding consumer expectations.
Instead of the normal line-up of chairs, Lodge, designed by Japanese architects Suppose Design Office, is divided into three parts. A floating mirror strip preserves the privacy of seated customers.
‘When I design, I think about space without any stereotypes,’ says Makoto Tanijiri, Lodge’s architect.
This interior taps into our Rough Luxe design trend, which features products without unnecessary gloss and shine.
