International – To celebrate its 50th anniversary, international language school EF, Education First, has released a new decades-spanning short film, Live the Language.
The two-minute film documents the life of a young female student as she leaves her home town to travel not only through different countries, but through time as well. Beginning in the 1960s, the woman is shown travelling to London, before going to Paris in the 1970s, Barcelona in the 1980s, California in the 1990s and Sydney in the present day.
Directed by Gustav Johansson and Evan Prosofsky, each decade of Live the Language is shot using techniques that were available in each era, such as Hi8 and full HD. In addition, graphic designer Albin Holmqvist adds typographic titles to the film that reference the aesthetics of the decades. The short film is the eighth to be released by EF as part of its Live the Language series.
