Amsterdam – A new short film for smartwatch brand Vector is pitch perfect when it comes to wearables.
- Vector’s smartwatch understands whether its wearer is at work, sleeping, running or at home
- ‘The smartwtach should bring all information that does not need a big screen to your wrist, in order to save you time, minimise distraction and help you live in the present’ – Vector
In a departure from technology-heavy campaigns, creative duo Lernert & Sander created Bells and Whistles, ‘an installation for the easily distracted’. Made from brass instruments, the installation forms the basis of Vector’s conceptual film, which uses the clashing sounds of the brass as a metaphor for our over-stimulated lives. Vector’s brand of smartwatches are designed to help cut out the noise and confusion of modern life, offering ‘the right information at the right time’, intuitive technology combined with classic design.
The Big Picture: According to technologists such as Linda Stone, technology should be passive, ambient and non-invasive, clearing the path between the mind and body rather than obstructing it.
