New York – A pocket-sized bookstore below street level is bound to create a buzz among Manhattan’s art lovers.
Cultural collective OHWOW, made up of artists, musicians and designers, has opened its first retail space, the Book Club Store. Products on sale include Clayton Patterson’s Front Door Book and Yoko Ono’s posters for ThreeAsFour’s spring 2010 collection.
Designed by interior decorator Rafael de Cardenas, the store combines a store front and a reading room. ‘It echoes a classic black and white, pre-war NYC bathroom,’ OHWOW writes on its website.
LS:N Global recently reported on the collective’s bar in Miami that is receiving a makeover from a different artist each month. Read more about innovative collaborations in our report on the new Brandtocracies era.
