Eindhoven – Who doesn’t want a bit of magic in the kitchen? Well, it’s on the way with the concept for a tap that is controlled by touchless interaction.
Dutch designer Jasper Dekker has developed an idea for a tap that is controlled by ‘meaningful gestures’.
‘If I want water to come out of the tap I perform a gesture along the side of the tap towards me, as if I am dragging the water out or saying ‘come to me’,’ says Dekker. ‘If I want the water to stop running I perform the same gesture away from me, as if I am pushing the water back into the tap.’
The temperature and speed of the water can also be changed in this way.
