London – Retailers and retail strategists gathered at the Wapping Project yesterday for one of LS:N Global’s regular networking events.

True to the spirit of these informal gatherings, six experts spoke at six tables of six people for six minutes about the topic of the day: retail. At the event, attended by brands such as Boots, ASOS, Aésop and Links of London, retailers heard about new and compelling ways to respond to the issues they face, as reported in our recent retail report.

Sharing their experiences and expertise from retail’s front line, the afternoon’s six speakers included fashion designer Alison Lloyd, founder of Ally Capellino, luxury goods expert Chris Sanderson, co-founder of The Future Laboratory, and store designers Ian Caulder, creative director at Caulder Moore, and Philip Handford, founder of Campaign. Taking a 360? and theatrical view of retail, the other experts were supply chain management expert Dave Food, director at Prophetic Technology, and curator and director Jules Wright, founder of the Wapping Project.

After the at-table talks, LS:N Global members continued their discussions over glasses of Laurent-Perrier rosé, and wandered round the Wapping Project’s Ally Capellino exhibition.

LS:N Global will report in more detail about the event, including interviews with the speakers, in our Inform and Innovate sections in the coming weeks. For a comprehensive view of the threats and opportunities that retailers face in 2010 and 2011, see our Retail Futures Report.
